from Athletics Northern Ireland Athletics Northern Ireland have published their guideline standards for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi 2010.
The standards are set to give athletes and their coach an idea of the performance level required to compete at these Championships. Please note that achieving the standard doesn’t guarantee selection.
The final selection for the team will take place next July 2010 to allow as much time for athletes to post their best performances prior to selection.
This will enable those selected to put the finishing touches to their final preparation for the Games which start 3rd of Oct with the athletics programme getting under way on Wednesday 6th October.
The vibrant city of New Delhi, home to 14 million people, will host the Commonwealth Games in 2010. This will be the first time India has hosted the Games and only the second time the event has been held in Asia (Kuala Lumpur in 1998 was the first).
The dates for the Games are 3 – 14 October 2010, inclusive of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
