
at Nenagh Stadium, Saturday / Sunday A packed programme of competitive indoor athletics action is set for the Nenagh Indoor Stadium this weekend for the Woodie’s DIY AAI Games & Combined Events Championships on Saturday, and the Woodie’s DIY Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships of Ireland on Sunday.
The popular AAI Games, this year being run in conjunction with The Combined Events Championships (for Junior, Senior & Masters) on Saturday, has a wide range of exciting events on the track and the infield. For both women and men, the following events are being run on Saturday from 11 AM:
60m, 200m, 400m 1000m, 60m Hurdles, 3000m, 3k Walk, High Jump, Triple Jump, Long Jump & Shot.
In the Combined events for Junior and Senior, athletes will compete over the 60m Hurdles, LJ, Shot, HJ and 1000m. In the Masters Combined Events Championships, athletes will attempt either four or five events depending on their age category.
On Sunday, the action turns to the equally competitive over 35’s for The Woodie’s DIY Masters Indoor Championships of Ireland.
This national event, formerly the Veterans Championship, has become very popular with the growing number of competitive athletes over the age of 35 from all corners of the country, in all the various events in athletics.
On Sunday for women, there will be Championship medals up for grabs for the first three in each of the 10 events of offer in the following age categories:
W35, W40, W40, W45, W50, W55, W60, W65 & W70.
For Master’s men on Sunday there will also be the 10 track & field events and age categories above, plus two more categories – M75 & M80; a full day’s competitive athletics is expected.
For both days and events, late entries will be accepted on the day, but only between 10 AM – 11 AM.
AAI Games Event Change

Triple Jump will be held at approx 11.30am in the Nenagh on 22nd January.
The 3000m event in the AAI Games is replaced by the 1000metres due to rescheduling and accommodating the Combined Events.
