from the Athletics Association of Ireland Regional Developments Squads will take place in Munster and Connacht next weekend, the 4th & 5th December, while the Dublin & Leinster combined squad takes place in Santry the following week. The Ulster/ANI ‘Rising Stars’ squad meet next on the weekend of 18th & 19th December.

As per vote at congress athletes will not be notified individually. Club secretaries have received squad lists and all relevant details, and clubs and schools are encouraged to communicate these details to all selected athletes.
These squads have proved both successful and popular in recent years with strong numbers in attendance around the country and this trend looks set to continue.

Athletics Northern Ireland / Ulster Athletics ‘Rising Stars’ Squad
Athletics Northern Ireland’s/Ulster Athletics new Talent Identification Programme, the “Rising Stars Squad”, replaces the existing ANI/Ulster Regional Development Squad programme. The squad will still incorporate the ANI Disability Squad. The squad has been meeting since September and has proven very successful and popular.
