from Donore Harriers website We are delighted that Tommy Hayward was honoured as official of the year at last Saturday’s A.A.I. Awards dinner.
Tommy has been involved in athletics at many levels since he joined Donore Harriers on 1941. He has given unstinting service to our club as an active athlete, committee member and later as secretary in 1957,a position he held for 12 years. Tommy attended his 70th successive Donore Hariiers agm recently, further evidence of his interest in our Clubs ongoing development.
At national level he was one of the negotiators in the formation of BLE in 1967 and has always been on hand to serve at any athletic priomotion where his services are required.
Tommy is an proud Donore man and we are equally proud of him and his award and we offer him our warm congratulations.
