Mallow A.C. www.mallowac.ie are hosting a 5km (3.2 mile) Running race and Walk in the grounds of Doneraile Park at 8p.m. on Friday evening June 4th. Sonia O Sullivan is expected to start the race after she has attended the school sports which are also being held in Doneraile on the day by Awbeg Valley A.C. It is expected that there will be a great atmosphere at the third event of seven which are to be held in the Ballyhoura region. People of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in the short distance event which should be manageable for most. People can cover the distance at whatever pace they like and they should be assured that it is normal for people of all levels of ability to attend an event such as this. Walkers will start behind the runners at 8p.m. sharp. Entries will be taken at Nagle Rice Secondary school across the road from the park from 6:30 p.m. up until 7:30p.m. Refreshments and prizes will be in the School Hall afterwards. Sonia O Sullivan will give a talk afterwards at a local hotel, the Springfort hall.
