Kildare TV covers all that was great about the race On Sunday 9th May the 1st inaugral Kildare Half Marathon was held starting from the Curragh Racecourse.

At the starting line 1258 participants lined up ready for Catherina McKiernan to start them off. The line up included Ray Darcy, many army personal from the nearby Curragh Camp and runners representing all of the counties in Ireland. The temperatures were ideal conditions for running and with clear skies the views over the Curragh with the Dublin mountains in the distance were specatular. The army tanks were in place at the start to add to the build up for the race and Kildare.tv captured the race for all to see themselves at the start and the finish. The winning time was 1 hr 10 mins and 23 secs by Lorcan Cronin from Clonliffe Harriers and the ladies winner was Patrycja Wlodarczyk from Raheny Shamrocks who completed the race in 1 hr 22mins 51 secs. Have a look at www.kildare.tv and look at part 1 & part 2 of the coverage and see whether you can see yourself or a friend and let them know. In May 2011 the Run Kildare Event will feature The Curragh 10K, The Run Kildare Half Marathon and The Run Kildare Full Marathon.
