Tri Limits After successfully organising numerous Duathlons and Triathlons, Tri Limits in association with bikedock are proud to present The Sperrin Half. The event will take place on 8th May 2010 at Lough Fea, which has played host to many of their previous races.

Tri Limits have also developed a successful working relationship with ironman Athlete and world class coach Richard Allen. On the day, Richard will be donating 10 Spot prizes enabling the recepients to receive a One Day Coaching opportunity. From this athletes will be able to not only train alongside RIchard but will also benefit from his years of experience in racing – from Sprint Triathlon to Ironman.

This Middle Distance race is perfect timing for those thinking of competing in subsequent Ironman competitions – such as – Ironman Lanzarote, 22nd May and Ironman Nice 27th June. Not only can Tri Limits Half Ironman be used as practice for these races; it is also a good indication of your fitness level – required for such endurance battles.

The set distances for the Sperrin Half are – Swim – 1.2 Miles, Bike – 56 Miles and Run – 13.1 Miles, giving a total distance of 70.3 Miles.

The swim for the Sperrin Half takes place in Lough Fea, the first race to ever be allowed to swim in the sheltered crystal clear waters. The run and bike course follow the roads and lanes in and around the scenic Lough. The track is a good mixture of a flat and fast path: with rolling hills providing an excellent challenge for the athlete.
