For more information, contact Paul Barnwall (087-2329577) or Matt Dwyer (087-6780365).
There is no large organisation behind Paul and Matt – it is just them and a few of their neighbours and friends who put on this race for us. Therefore this is a good opportunity for people to volunteer their help. One item occurs to me in particular: the course is always very carefully marked out with the BHAA white stakes and plastic tapes. These all have to be collected after the last runner has passed by. The more people who pitch in to do this, the quicker the organisers can get out of there. Even if you don’t give Paul or Matt a call, maybe you could help on the day.
And just so that you are not surprised: it is a flat, fast course, so to spice things up, the organisers sometimes place some straw bales at one point in the lap so that you have to break your stride. (Just one layer – and I have never seen a faller.)
Go there and enjoy.
