EuroSpar Fastnet Triathlon On the 12th of June the the Eurospar Fastnet Triathlon will take place in the picturesque village of Schull, Co. Cork starting at 10:30am. Online entries will open at 10am on the 6th of March. We expect the race to fill quickly so if you are interested in taking part book early to avoid disappointment. The Eurospar Fastnet triathlon is a sprint distance race and consists of 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run. The race starts on a stony beach below the Schull Community College Sailing Centre. The swimming section will be on a triangular course in the protected harbour. This section finishes on the college slipway. From here there is a short run up to the transition area. The bike course is an out and back course along a scenic country/coastal road. Although the course is hilly there is no major hill on the route. The run route follows the coast from the Schull Community College to the turnaround point just before Colla pier. Each entrant will receive a medal and a T-shirt and also this year we will have a photo of every competitor crossing the finish line available to download free from this website. Prizes will be presented to the first three male and female finishers and the top three in every age group. There are also junior prizes for male and female.
