
The final race in the Outfield Sports 3 Counties Challenge It’s the big one! The final race in the Outfield Sports 3 Counties Challenge returns to Tipperary on Friday 7th August for the Fourth running of the Carraig Hotel “Deadman’s 5” Mile Roadrace in Carrick on Suir. After the success of the rest of the series so far, with record entries and course records,hopes are high that this will be our biggest race yet. The event, which is organised by Carrick on Suir A.C. -Roadrunners, will see a series of firsts this year, including;
– a new Start Line in front of the beautiful Ormond Castle, which will allow the race to proceed through the Main Street of Carrick and the famous Sean Kelly Square, before meeting up with the usual route and ending, as normal, beside the Town Park;
– the first use of Chip Timing in a Race by Carrick on Suir A.C. ;
– our Biggest Prize Fund yet, with a Prize of €250 for First man and Woman, as well as a Course Record Prize of €100,and the usual catogory Prizes;
– The first time our Race Sponsors Asics will bring the Asics Mobile Gait Analysis Van to our Races.
From 5:00 p.m., trained Asics Technical Running Experts will carry out Gait Analysis and Recommend the best Footwear at Race H.Q. (This is a Free service in conjunction with Outfield Sports, Carrick on Suir) As usual , Race H.Q will be the Carrick Swan Hall by the Town Park (behind the Garda Station), and there will be Changing and Shower facilities available in the nearby Club House(by kind permission). Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m., although as with all our races runners can avoid the Queue by entering online at www.runireland.com. Entry fee will be €10.00 and T-Shirts will be available to all runners who completed 3 out of 4 Races in the Series.
