Irish Milers Club Meeting 24th June Dublin

None Entries for next week’s IMC meeting in Irishtown are starting to gain speed. The women’s 3000m will see a host of DSD athletes attempting Euro Junior and Euro u-23 qualifying standards with the French O’Carroll twins, Bryony Treston, Maura Ni Amhliabh and Laura Hewitt. The men’s 3000m will be paced by Martin Conroy with a strong field expected – Stephen Scullion is the leading entrant so far. The men’s A 800m will be paced for 1.49 by 400m specialist Simon Taggart who led a number of athletes to personal bests in the Irish Schools earlier this month with a large number of other 800m races been paced all the way to 2.10. John Coghlan and Anthony Lieghio are the lead entrants to date. Entries are open until Monday June 22nd.

The IMC encourages athletes of all standards to compete in the races to achieve personal best and seasons best times. The races will be as follows:
• Men’s 800m (Pace 1.49 – 2.10)?there will be 5-6 races on the night depending on the number of entries?
• Women’s 800m (Pace 2.09 – 2.40)?there will be 1-2 races on the night depending on the number of entries?
• Men’s 3000m (Pace 8.00 – 9.15)?there will be 1-2 races on the night depending on the number of entries?
• Women’s 3000m (Pace 9.30)
• Men’s Shot Putt?
• Women’s Long Jump

Athletes interested in competing in the Cork City Sports 800m races for men and women should also email Garrett as soon as possible as places are limited in these races. The next IMC race following Cork will be held the annual pre nationals event on July 25th. Entries will open post Cork for this meeting.
