
from the AAI website European Athletics is pleased to announce that Irishman Peter Stafford has been appointed Projects Officer and Events Executive with the association’s Head Office in Lausanne. 25-year-old Peter, a former Irish U23 200m champion and international and Irish indoor silver medallist brings a wealth of athletics knowledge to the job.
He was Competitions Manager in Welsh Athletics from 2006 until 2009 where he successfully led and managed a number of national and international events and championships.
A sports coaching degree holder, Peter continued his professional education by successfully achieving a prestigious MBA while working with Welsh Athletics.
Along with this he is a level 3 UKA Sprints coach and a UKA coach education tutor delivering level 1 and level 2 of the UKA coach education pathway.
The Projects Officer and Events Executive role has just been created by European Athletics and Peter will be responsible for the Long Term Planning, Bidding and Evaluation Procedures for all European Athletics Events, Project Leader on Events and support to the Events Team, Management of Specific Projects identified by the Executive Committee and Director General.
