
from Athletics Northern Ireland Athletics Ireland will be sending a full squad of both Junior and Senior Athletes to the Celtic Cup in Cardiff this weekend, with several athletes looking to secure places on the Irish Senior team for the European Indoor Championships in Turin next month.
In the field events Zoe Brown is the only NI Senior, who jumped a new Irish pole vault record of 4.05m at the weekend, will be looking to go higher in Cardiff to gain selection for Turin.
The Junior teams include Katie Kirk who ran a recent PB in the 800m at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Christine McMahon (400m) who has been named on the Irish squad for Turin, Eimear Black (1500m) and Joanna Mills in the Long Jump. Mark Patterson races over 800m in Junior Men.
Elsewhere the Armagh International took place (full results available) where David Nightingale (USA) won the competitive International race in a time of 13.54. Top local finisher was Eddie McGinley in 27th place in 14.40. Kerry Harty took the International Womens title (9.31) while Adam Ingram for the Mens 3K race (8.51)
