Doody & Ryan have good runs in Mallow
Martin Doody started off 2009 in fine form with a 7th. place finish in a time of 55:50 in Mallow 10mile road race, in the busy Co. Cork town on Sun. 11 January 2009 . This was a great improvement on last year where he finished 9th. in a time of 57:22 in 2008 Mallow 10 mile Road Race . Keith Ryan also had a good run , finishing 24th. (2nd. M40) in a time of 58:57 . One of our New Members Margaret Harty (F50) completed the course in a time of 1:24:00 . 576 runners finished the race in very wet conditions.
O Donnell 17th. in Munster Cross Country
Ruari O Donnell was the first Limerick Man home, in 17th. position , in Munster Senior Cross Country Championships in Dungarvan on Sunday 18 January 2009. Patrick Cunningham was on the Limerick 4 X 500m Relay Team , who finished outside the medals in the Boys U14 Cross Country Relays .

The inaugural public lecture of the mid-western branch of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (https://www.iscp.ie) will take place on Thursday January 22nd in the Health Sciences Building at the University of Limerick. The talk will focus on hamstring injury in sport, and discuss what is currently recommended in the prevention and management of hamstring injury. The speaker will be Kieran O’Sullivan, Chartered hysiotherapist, and lecturer at the University of Limerick. It is expected that the talk will be of interest to many different groups, including hysiotherapists, doctors, strength and conditioning trainers, personal trainers, coaches and athletes themselves. There will be time provided at the end of the talk for questions.
Attendance at the talk is free, and no advance booking is required.
