from Galway City Harriers Full results of the Galway AAI AAI Indoor Track & Field Championships held on 3rd January are attached. G.C.H. had a large contingent of athletes and coaches travel to the first event of the new Indoor season. Congratulations to all the competitors and all the medal winners. Among the outstanding performers on the day was Leona McGuire, competing for GCH in the Senior Women’s category. Leona won the 60m and the 200m in great times of 8.1s and 27.4s respectively and is certainly one to watch for the year ahead. Alanna Lally showed her versatility combining both 60m and 800m wins at U14. Also an impressive all-rounder was Keith Fallon who won the U17 Boys sprint double in 7.6s and 25.3s, later adding the 800m to his tally in 2.13.2s. Both Laura Ann Costello and Keegan Kelly had great Hurdles performances at U13. Other athletes in winning form were Liam Costello, Simon Shaughnessy & Evan McGuire for the Boy’s team and Roisin Flynn, Amy Rohan, Deirdre Lally and Eimear Hanahoe for the Girls.
