Make history running Wexford Town’s 1st Marathon! Starting and finishing in the Faythe, this promises to be a great event. The route takes you out of Wexford town, through some of our most scenic countryside. The course is an out and back route which takes you up through Kerlogue, past Johnstown Castle, onto Murrintown, and then loops around Forth Mountain, and back to Murrintown and back into town along the same route, finishing with a nice 4-5 mile section of a slight downhill to give you a fast finish. There are 2 sections on the course where you have to climb for about 1 km, but the long stretches of downhill and the stunning views make it very worth while!
We will start at 10am sharp. Timing chipped. Finisher medals. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd ladies & men. Registrations will take place in Whites Hotel Wexford on Saturday 6th from 12 till 5pm and again on the morning of the race from 7am till 9am. Registrations will close strictly at 9am to allow all runners to get to the start area.
Early bird registration €45 until April 1st, and €50 after this date.
