Picnic Paint Run this Weekend

0

June 1st Stradbally Hall Estate, Co. Laois will host a different type of Picnic this weekend when Laois Pony Club will take over the estate, by kind permission of the Cosby Family, for their annual club fundraiser. On Sunday June 1st “The Picnic Paint Run” will take place. This is a fun run with a difference in the home of the Electric Picnic – it’s an untimed non-competitive run with the emphasis on a healthy, fun afternoon. You can run, walk, skip, crawl if you like. You don’t have to be fit, there’s no hurry to finish, just enjoy the fresh air, the exercise, the music and of course the beautiful scenery of Stradbally Hall Estate.

How does it work? You should wear old clothes and preferably white and sunglasses and at each 1km stage you are blitzed by volunteers in a different colour paint powder. At the end of the run you will have a smile from ear to ear and will look like a tie-dyed hippy!  Then afterwards relax and enjoy the music for a few hours in our chill out picnic area and sample some delicious delights from some of the onsite food vendors.
To keep the party atmosphere alive, we will have a DJ at one of the many stages available on the estate. We will also have our very own Miss Motivator to warm you up Zumba style. This is a great way for the secondary school teenagers to get together after a tough week doing Summer Exams and to celebrate the start of summer holidays.
Entries are open on line at www.runireland.com. A limited number of spaces will be available for entry on the day. Entry Cost €15 for 5km or €10 for 2km. Registration at 1pm, Run Commences 2pm. Queries to 087-2311936 / 087-2700968 / 087-2369874.
