Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Challenge 2014

0

Welcome to the Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Walk in Aid Of the Irish Cancer Society and the LARCC. Covering a spectacular region of North Meath, Westmeath and Cavan.

Starting from Dromone at 6.00 a.m. (near Oldcastle, Co. Meath) on Saturday, 7th. June 2014.

What is it?
The JFK 50 Mile was first held in the spring of 1963 as part of President John F. Kennedy’s push to bring the country back to physical fitness, all military officers were to be able to cover 50 miles on foot in 20 hours to maintain their commissions. The Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Walk takes this event and uses the same principle but we use it to raise much needed funds for Cancer in Ireland. Simply walk 1 to 50 miles at your own pace and raise a minimum of €50. Hopefully we can build on this and make it bigger and better this year.

When is it on?
7th June 2014 starting at 6am at Moylagh Community Centre Moylagh Oldcastle Co Meath. Covering Meath, Cavan and Westmeath.

Who does it?
Anyone over the age of 16. Do 1 mile, 10 mile, 30, 50 up to you. We have support the whole way along the route.
