On Sunday June 1st 2014 the second Dingle Way Challenge will take place as we welcome you to West Kerry to walk some of the best scenery in Ireland. Description This promises to be an exceptional day in the mountains and on the beaches, with the banter of a walking group, taking in the surroundings and the history of West Kerry. The Challenge is ideal for groups, friends, teams and solo hikers alike (minimum age 18). The Dingle Way Challenge takes place on Sunday, June 1st 2014. This trek is 54 km in length and begins when we meet in Blennerville, Tralee at 5am and bus you back to the start in Cloghane. The trek is broken into 3 stages with refreshments at the end of every stage: Cloghane to Castlegregory Castlegregory to Camp Camp to Blennerville Each participant will receive: Bus from Blennerville to the starting point in Cloghane and bus back to Blennerville at the end of each stage if only completing some of the sections. Hot drinks, Hot breakfast, light refreshments, First Aid support at the end of the stages. Hot showers are available on completion of the event. Free burger, drink voucher (beer, wine or soft drink) and free entry to our night of music and fun. Essential gear for participants: Be prepared for the cold, rain or strong sun. Warm clothes, comfortable walking boots and socks are essential. A water and wind-proof jacket and some light layers for undergarments are recommended. In a light backpack, bring water, snacks, sun cream and a mobile phone. NOTE: The Dingle Way Challenge is a walk and not a race Each walker must hold a level of health & fitness appropriate to the event All walkers are participating at their own risk
