Gerard Rowe does a final run around the Castleward Challenge route in preparation for Saturday’s race.

ENtries close tomorrow at 11 pm The third annual Castleward Challenge Half marathon and 10K takes place on Saturday next (April 12th) in the beautiful Castle Ward Estate, near Strangford, Co. Down.
Hundreds of runners have registered online for the race and organisers BORN2RUN Events would like to remind anyone who has not yet done so that online entry for the event closes on Wednesday 9th at 11pm. It will still be possible to enter on the day but there will be an additional £5 charge for this as is normal practice at such events.

BORN2RUN’s motto is GREAT RACES IN GREAT PLACES and The Castleward Challenge certainly lives up to this. It’s a multi-terrain half marathon & 10K set in the shadow of the National Trust owned Castle Ward Mansion with a mix of Forest trail, country road and shoreline paths on the banks of Strangford Lough.
BORN2RUN Events have established a loyal following and runners travel from all over Ireland and further afield to attend their races. This year’s Castleward Challenge is no different.
For runners travelling from the Rep. of Ireland Castle Ward is approx.. 1 hours drive from Newry.
