Preparations are well advanced for the hosting of the 16th SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Dublin on the 13th December 2009.
This, the first European athletics Championship event ever to be held in Ireland, will be a momentous occasion for the sport. Athletics Ireland is determined to continue the organisational excellence established at previous editions of this prestigious event.
A massive amount of work has already gone into the organisation of the championships, while a lot more remains to be done in the coming months.
As part of the preparations an information booklet has been published that contains a map of the course at Santry Demesne with the location of all the facilities associated with such a major undertaking. It also has details of hotel accommodation and a brief history of the Irish cross country tradition.
