
The Kerryman Dingle Marathon 2013 The Kerryman Dingle Marathon is becoming a favourite with marathon runners both nationwide and internationally. There are over 500 overseas runners from 20 countries currently registered and it is an official event of The Gathering. Places are limited and potential participants are advised to book early. The 13 mile half marathon is popular with both runners and walkers. The 26 mile marathon is attracting first time and veteran runners. The 50 mile ultra marathon attracts international attention. It is already considered the toughest race in Ireland. Two runners can register for a half marathon each under the Buddy option.
Registration for The Kerryman Dingle Marathon is nearing completion with over 60 per cent of the 3000 runner field already registered for the event.
“Generally, during July we fill the event, and this year looks to continue that trend.” Said Marathon Co-ordinator Ken Dunne, adding that: “…any runners contemplating entering should register now. They`ll get in the run and still have plenty of time to train.”
“We are running weekly training tips for marathon preparation in The Kerryman, which will cater for runners of all levels of fitness and experience.” Ken said and added that application forms can be found in the print edition of this newspaper and also at https://www.dinglemarathon.ie
The course will lead you around the Dingle peninsula through picturesque villages and incorporates 17 miles of coast road. The spectacular scenery of one of Ireland’s most beautiful landscapes will enhance the pleasure of The Kerryman Dingle Marathon experience.
