– Lower Cost with ‘no frills’
– No more 5k
– Confirmed Race Route
After some serious consideration we have decided to run our event in August again this year. However there will be some significant changes to the previous years. Low Cost – No Frills A lot of entrants last year said that they would prefer a lower entry price and would be willing to do without some of the “extra’s” to facilitate this. So, as we are always interested in feedback, we are going to try this approach for a year and test the response. Changes: – Price will drop from €38 (early bird) and €45 to; €25 (early bird) and €30 – There will be no technical t-shirts – There will be no goodie bags The same: – You still get a finishers medal – You still get chip timing – You still get access to changing rooms, toilets, showers and leisure centre at start and finish of the race – You still get FREE tea/coffee & sandwiches Just 1 race: Unfortunately to ensure the smooth and safe running of our event, we need to focus our attention and resources on the half marathon. For this reason, we are not running the 5k race this year. There are many quality 5k races around Laois and the Midlands, so we want to focus on bringing a new event to the area. Race Route: To ensure that everyone is confident of an accurate course, please follow this link for the race route for 2013. The focal point of the course will again be the Rock of Dunamaise, around mile 5.
