Secondary schools fun run in St Anne’s Pk 15 May 3-6pm Beaumont Hospital Foundation’s new secondary schools, fundraiser, ‘Boys Against the Girls’, takes place in St Anne’s Park, Raheny, on Wednesday afternoon, 15th May from 3-6pm. Essentially a 5K fun run, with the added aspect of a live, outdoor gig performed by local band, Kapitals, the event promises to deliver a safe, social occasion for boys and girls from schools across the northside. What better way to celebrate that school’s almost out for summer and raise funds for the community’s largest acute and emergency hospital.
Helping out with the organisation of the event are a team of ten transition year students from several secondary schools who have joined a working committee set up by Beaumont Hospital Foundation to help with the organisation of ‘Boys Against the Girls’.
Entry to the event is €20 and payment can be made online at bhf.ie, through established school reps (see bhf.ie for list) or on the day of the event. Registration starts at 2pm in St Paul’s College in Sybill Hill, Raheny.
Prizes will be provided to the first placed boy and girl along with a number of spot prizes. Goody bags will be provided to all entrants on completion of the 5K route.
The event is being organised with the assistance of Dublin City Council and BHF hope that it will attract the support of students ahead of final preparations for summer exams.
