
24th February People looking to have an active start to 2013 are urged to sign up for the Celtic Link Ferries Duncannon 10k. Taking place on Sunday, 24th of February, based on the success of last years event with almost 500 participants this promise to be one of the best events of its kind in the south east this year and is being organised by St James Coiste Na Noig.
All runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part in this 10k whether you are a Marathon runner or just want to try and shed a few pounds in the New Year!
If you are planning on running a new personal best or just out to enjoy the walk and the crack this is the event for you.
The 10k will start at St James pitch at Mersheen and proceed on a clockwise loop through the village of Ramsgrange at the two kilometer mark. At the six kilometer mark you will walk adjacent to the Duncannon beach for one Kilometre, before entering the village of Duncannon. The final 3 kilometres will bring you past the lighthouse at Blackhill and the finish line will be back at the pitch in Mersheen.
The cost of the event is €20 per person. Chip timing, €1500 cash prize fund, T Shirts, Goodie bags, after race refreshments and great atmosphere is guaranteed on the day.
