Great Run for Ava in Spain

Written by Liz (Dundrum South Dublin website) Ava Hutchinson showed that she is ready to make the Irish Team for the European C.C., when she finished 9th in a world class field in Burgos yesterday.

At the Dublin C.C. Championships in Marlay Park on Saturday Luke McCann (U.15) and Isabelle Odlum (U.17) won their first gold medals, with impressive runs. Siofra Cleirigh Buttner led the U.19 girls to team victory with Claire McCarthy 2nd, Sarah Miles 3rd, Meghan Ryan 4th and Nicole Kenny 6th. In the U.19 Boys Killian Mooney also finished in first place and led the team to gold medals with Rick Nally 3rd, Andrew Cullen 5th and Brian Conway 8th. Supporting well in this age group were Kevin Lynch 10th, Philip Laurence 12th and Michael McCarthy 13th. Liam Fjitzpatrick 3rd, Julian Martin 4th, Jack MacGabhann 5th and Adam Dunne 9th showed the U.17 team to be in top form. In the U.17 girls team race Isabelle was supported very well by Sarah Fitzpatrick, who finished a close up 2nd, Ella Fennelly 3rd and Aoife McCavana 9th, to take first team place. Jodie McCann finished 1st in the U.13 girls, and with Johanna McCambridge 5th, Sarah Domoney 6th and Grace Kos 10th they took the team title, with Juno Barlow a close up 12th. The U.15 Boys also won their team race with Luke 1st, Christian 2nd, Ruadhan 6th and Conor 11th. Others to impress were: Jenny Costello U.9 Girls 1st; Alan Moran U.9 Boys 4th; Shane Gleeson U.11 Boys 4th; Rory Smith 4th U.13 Boys; Eimear Fitzpatrick 3rd U.15 Girls. Results as follows:
