The Mick Murphy memorial four miles road race is only around the corner so all runners and joggers are urged to get their entry in as early as possible. With only three weeks to go to the eight annual running of the popular four miles road race in Ferns, Co. Wexford, preparations are well underway to provide an even better running experience to all entrants. The race and fun run is organised by Sliabh Buidhe Rovers A.C. and has become a must-do on the calendar for both club runners and total novices alike from the South East and much farther beyond. Start time is 5pm and entries are open online on www.runireland.com, with number pick-up in the community centre in Ferns on the afternoon of the race. All finishers will receive a commerative medal, with cash prizes in all categories for men and women, including vets and juniors. There will be a race video also, which will be shown over refreshments in ”The Courtyard”, so it’s a great chance to see your ”race face” on the roads around Ferns. Chip timing will be used for the first time this year, with results print outs available to all at prizegiving. Pictures and results from previous runnings of the race are available on Sliabh Buidhe Rovers facebook page and the club will be ready to give everyone a good Wexford welcome on Sept 15th!
