THE EVENT will take place in the picturesque village of Schull in West Cork and is aimed at all abilities from beginner to experienced athlete. All entrants will receive a race t-shirt & medal. There will be plenty of post race entertainment.
THE COURSE begins at Schull Community College & Sailing Centre, with a 750m sea swim in beautiful Schull harbour (wetsuits must be worn), followed by an out and back rolling bike course with spectacular sea views. The run is out and back along the scenic Colla Road to finish at Schull College & Sailing Centre which is where the transition area and finish line are situated.
REGISTRATION will take place from 6-8pm on Friday 6th and between 8-9am on Saturday the 7th. The transition area will open at 8am on Sat. 7th. There will be a mandatory race briefing at 10.00am. The race starts at 10.30am sharp. All participants must be 16 yrs. or more on race day. REMEMBER – suitable bicycle helmet mandatory!
GETTING THERE & STAYING OVER.
Schull is located west of Skibbereen and south of Bantry in West Cork. The college and event headquarters is located on the Colla Road which runs adjacent to Schull harbour. There are many guest houses and B&B’s available in Schull but it is advisable to book early. Parking on race day will be limited to field next to Schull C. C. and Brosnan’s Eurospar Car Park. – NO PARKING on Colla Rd.
