Coolaney 8k Road Race

0

The 5th Coolaney 8k Road Race and Walk will take place on Friday 27th July at 7pm. The gently undulating circuit around Sligo’s tidiest village has provided some great races over the past four years and promises an enjoyable run again in 2012. Last year’s race was won by Emmet Dunleavy in a time of 25:56. There will be a warm welcome for new participants as well as all who have supported and enjoyed our race in the past. Note: This year the race has been moved to Friday evening to facilitate even more runners and walkers who may find it easier to attend an evening event. Following the success of last years race, a childrens’ 2k fun run will be held at 6.15pm. The Entry fee is €3 and we will have a medal for all competitors. Registration for the main event is via www.runireland.com or from 5.45 to 6.45 on the 27th at Coolaney Community Park in the centre of the village and the entry fee is €12. Changing facilities and showers are available at the park and refreshments will be served after the race. Participants may register as senior, over 35, over 45 or walkers. The route will be fully stewarded and will loop back to finish on the main street of the village. If you would like to register in advance, or get further details, please email your name and category to coolaney8k@gmail.com.
