Race day is Saturday 15 September 2012. Half Marathon starts at 9am and Full Marathon starts at 9:45am. Races start and finish from the Sligo Institute of Technology, Knocknarea Arena.​

RACE INFORMATION

RACE TIMING

Race Timing will be conducted by Precision Timing. A race chip will be in your race pack which you collect at race check-in. The chip will be attached to your race bib. A Start/Finish timing clock will be clearly visible at the start/finish line. All race times will be available immediately after you finish from the Precision Team. Results will also be visible from the large results screen at the finish line. Results will be instantly posted to this website.

RACE CHECK-IN

Race packs, bibs, race numbers and timing chips will be given out to you at race check-in the evening before the race on Friday 14th September at the Knocknarea Arena on the Sligo IT campus grounds. Check-in will also be available on the morning of the event for a VERY LIMITED time from 7am – 8am. We strongly advise that you check-in on Friday evening to avoid any hassle on race day.

FAMILY & FRIENDS

There will be activities for both adults and children on the day of the race as well as a farmers market and other retail outlet stalls located at the start/finish area. See the maps page for more details. Sligo’s main city centre and retail hub is also only a short walk from the Sligo IT grounds.

PARKING

There is substantial but limited parking available at the Sligo IT grounds. Access to parking will be CLOSED 1hr before the start of the Half Marathon. We recommend however that you arrange transport to the event through your hotel or friends and family to avoid any traffic difficulties. Click HERE to see a map of the parking area.

AID STATIONS

Aid stations will be available every 6km around the routes and manned by student volunteers from the ‘Sports and Recreation Degree’ in IT Sligo, as well as volunteers from the Carers Association of Ireland (Our Title Charity). Water and energy drinks will be available at all aid stations. Energy drink supplier is still to be announced.
