A big turnout is expected for the 10K and half marathon in Kinvara, Co. Galway on 3rd March. The Burren is a spectacular place to go running with magnificent scenery around every bend, especially when the roads are closed to traffic. The aptly named Kinvara Rock and Road 10K and Half Marathon takes place on Saturday 3rd March starting and finishing in the beautiful seaside town of Kinvara in Co. Galway.

Now in its second year, this event is attracting great interest from runners and sponsors, with Lucozade Sport being the official sports drink. Saucony are also event partners, a perfect match as believe it or not they make a specialist running shoe called the ‘Kinvara’.

So far runners from 26 of the 32 counties in Ireland and Northern Ireland have signed up. With plenty of time left before race day organisers Dolmen Sports are pushing to complete the full set – they just need entries from Antrim, Armagh, Fermanagh, Longford, Monaghan and Tyrone! You can enter online, by post or in any of the Amphibian King stores.

Online entry is here on Run Ireland and more information on the event is at www.rockandroad.ie. There is also an event Facebook page: www.facebook.com/rockandroad.ie.
