Galway City Harriers AC, one of Ireland’s largest athletics clubs, will host the 31st running of the famous Streets of Galway 8K road-race on Saturday 6th August 2016 (7pm). This event is the jewel in the crown of Galway racing events, and is a superb summer evening’s run through the city centre streets, Salthill and finishing at the historic Claddagh area.
This year we are delighted to announce that the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa Galway has come on board as race sponsor.
The event was first staged in 1986 and the ethos from the start to the present day has always been “sport for all”. The race attracts runners of all standards and ages from all over Ireland and abroad – from elite international-standard athletes, to athletics club runners, competitors from other sports and fun-runners, joggers and walkers alike. This year close on 3,000 runners will take part in what is a truly iconic race on the calendar and is one not to be missed
Registration is available on Active.com, at 20 euro early bird rate now, and 25 euro from July 7. Technical t-shirt for all, refreshments after, and this year a post race party is being organised!
