The Liz McDonnell Run is a 5K Cross Country race that takes place in the grounds of Castletown House, Celbridge, Co. Kildare. Now in it’s 11th year, the race remembers Celbridge student Elizabeth McDonnell who died at the age of 18. Liz was a multi talented athlete whose outstanding talent lay in Cross Country running; She won many accolades and awards at club, county, provincial and national level. She was a student at St Wolstan’s Community school and a distinguished member of its camogie and hockey teams. She was a prominent member of Celbridge GAA Camogie club and won many honours.

This is a serious course for competitive runners warming up for the cross country season, where in the past we have had sub 16 minute times. If you register for chip timing by September 5th 2015 you will receive a FREE Liz McDonnell Run technical t-shirt. Click here to register now

Casual runners, joggers and walkers are always welcome and can simply turn up on the day, register and make a donation as normal. The run has been established as a major family event in Celbridge with face painting for the kids and a cake/tea tent at the finish.

All proceeds are in aid of ARC Cancer Support who play a vital role in supporting men and women affected by cancer and those who care for them.

We are of course delighted to have the support of Castletown House / OPW to host this event.
