This year sees the inaugural JJ Reddy Half Marathon and the fifth annual JJ Reddy Danesfort 10k Run and 5k Fun Run take place in the beautiful, tranquil and historic Kilkenny countryside between Danesfort and Burnchurch. It’s a beautiful undulating route, on quiet country roads, at a marvellous time of year for being out and about!
There is easy access to the start/finish for visitors either out the N10 from Kilkenny City (the club is on the right as you enter Danesfort) or from Junction 9 on the M9 motorway – the club is only 500m away from the junction (heading towards Kilkenny) and there is ample secure parking there.
As always, the 10k and now the Half Marathon are chip timed by professionals – Total Timing – so it really is a race for serious runners or the contented amateur enthusiast!
As well as prizes for the Half Marathon, 10k and 5k Fun Run, there are also spot prizes for participants, so anyone really could be a winner on the day…..
Danesfort’s Kilkenny hurling stars will be there to help with proceedings…..
