The Graignamangh 10k and 5k is now into its 5th year of existence having raised over EU25,000 for charity since it started in 2011. It all began when we decided to start an event in memory of a dear friend. Bairbre Lonergan was a local girl who passed suddenly in 2010 and this event was started in her memory. It has grown every year from a fancy dress fun run in 2011 to over 200 runners in 2014 between the 2 races. We are honoured to hold this event this year again in her memory and hope to make a lot more money for charity! The entry fee for the 10k is EU20 and there will be a tech tshirt for the first 200 entrants. There are age category prizes – over 40 1st man and woman, over 50 1st man and woman, 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall man and woman. There will be an accurate chip and pin timing system with Precision Timing, pacers for 40, 50 and 60 mins as well as shower and toilet facilities available. Tech tshirts will be given to the first 200 registered runners and they have once again been kindly sponsored by Blacknight Solutions. For the families of the runners, there will be a bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained and BBQ to feed the masses! We have gotten increasingly positive feedback on this event every year so here’s to another successful year! Hope to see you all there!!
