Our Sept.event run/walk is in memory of local man Declan Hayes who died on 26th Oct 2010, aged 43 yrs, as a result of a motor bike accident R.I.P. Declan was a great sportsman and keen athlete. He was also very involved with Doonbeg Drama festival. 2015 is our 5th annual event. Our 10k run/walk takes in a very scenic looped route, starting and finishing in Doonbeg, overlooking the beautiful White Strand beach. Those partaking in the half marathon first do the 10k loop and then continue to do a second loop taking in the renowned Trump International Golf Club, finishing in Doonbeg village. All proceeds in aid of local charities, Clare Suicide Bereavement Support & Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
Parking will be in Doonbeg football field car park on Kilkee road. Shuttle bus will bring people to & fro. Refreshments will be served in the hall in the centre of the village. Register early to ensure a spot & looking forward to meeting you.
