BabyMAC – inaugural event: You’ve never done an adventure race before? This is your ideal introductory level. If you need a new year fitness challenge to keep you focused, if you want to aim for an achievable fitness level while having lots of fun on the way, this is the challenge for you. Get a friend or two to sign up to BabyMAC also so that they can join you in your training regime and adventure race preparations. For those looking to get fit in the new year, this is an ideal distance to start with.
THE CHALLENGE: The scenic off-road trail run is a challenging 3.5 km route within the 500 acre parkland of Millstreet Country Park. The 16km on-road bike route takes you on narrow winding country roads through unspoilt mountainous forestry regions, marshalled by local supporters eager to encourage you on your way.
And if you’ve never sat in a kayak before, don’t worry. Many of last year’s competitors had never done so either including the 4th place entrant of the MonsterMAC distance – 64km!! You can’t swim? Not a problem either. Many of last year’s participants couldn’t swim – one of our marshalls will put your buoyance aid on for you so no-one can sink in the water!!
So get training to get ready to conquer BabyMAC and maybe you will catch the bug and want to conquer the Munster Monster – MonsterMAC in future years.
