48k Multi sport challenge of Running, Biking, Hiking & Kayak.This course traverses Inishowen from East 2 West, both on and off road run, varying road surface cycle and the route choosen to capturing every aspect of its spectacular scenery and climaxing at Sliabh Sneachta, the highest point.
Shore 2 Summit Challenge – starting on the Shores of Lough Foyle at Redcastle Hotel the first 5k of the run is a steady climb from sea level to 240m. You can catch your breath as you make the remaining 7k over a mix of tarred and hill road.
The first 12k cycle, on tarred road, takes in the rolling hills of the mountain road between Carndonagh and Buncrana.
Sleive Snaght is the highest peak in Inishowen and climb will involve a 485m high climb over 4k. After taking in the spectacular views you make your way back down to complete the relatively easy 12k cycle to Ned’s Point in Buncrana.
A 1.5k circular kayak course on twin, flat bottom stable kayaks will allow you to relax a little (Unless you are competing for the prizes) before completing the final 2k run to the well deserved finish line on the Shore front in Buncrana.
Exhausted, elated, looking good or rough, happy or sad – you’ll know that you have Challenged the course managed to “Take it to the Limits”.
