
Hardy runners take on Thonabrucky Challenge Despite the onset of a hurricane the inaugural Thonabrucky Challenge took place on Sunday last. Close to 200 hardy runners and walkers turned out to take on the 6km fun run in aid of the CF UHG Hospital fund and Rathun an Chaislean Nua Hurling Club “We were unsure in the morning if the race would go ahead but we made a decision to go ahead in rain, hail or shine and we are so happy we did. Everyone that took part really enjoyed the route and the event. This will definitely be a permanent fixture in our hurling club’s calendar,” said Lisa Regan Secretary of Rathun an Chaislean Nua.
“This was a massive community effort and the day was enjoyed by hundreds, we are so delighted to be associated with this event and well done to everyone who took part on the day,” said Mary Lane Heneghan of CF Galway Branch.
