
Clonliffe Harriers are delighted to announce that the Brother At Your Side Clonliffe Schools Cross Country 2011 will take place in Santry Demesne Park on Wednesday the 12th of October from 12.00 noon. Clonliffe are particularly delighted to announce that for the third successive year the event will be sponsored by Brother.
The continued generosity and support of Mr. Sean Sheahan, the Managing Director of Brother Ireland, means that once again Clonliffe Harriers will host what is acknowledged to be one of the top school events on the athletics calendar. The support of Brother means that once again all athletes who take part in the event will receive a unique special souvenir t-shirt. Furthermore Brother are providing a piece of office equipment from the extensive Brother range which will be of enormous benefit to any school, to the best school in all four categories, i.e. Boy’s Primary School, Girl’s Primary School, Boy’s Secondary School and Girl’s Secondary School. In addition the Laro Byrne Memorial Plaque will be presented to what is judged on the day to have been the best overall school, which will take into account not only the results, but also the contribution that school has made in the discretion of the Judges to the days proceedings.

Primary School Girl’s Race (5th & 6th classes) – 1000M
Primary School Boy’s Race (5th & 6th classes) – 1000M
Minor Girl’s Secondary School – 1000M
Minor Boy’s Secondary School – 2000M
Junior Girl’s Secondary School – 2000M
Junior Boy’s Secondary School – 3000M
Intermediate Girl’s Secondary School – 3000M
Intermediate Boy’s Secondary School – 4000M
Senior Girl’s Secondary School – 3000M
Senior Boy’s Secondary School – 5000M
There will be awards presented to the first three individuals in each race and medals for the first three teams in each race.
The Brother At Your Side Clonliffe Schools Cross Country is an invitational only race, to receive your school’s invitation simply e-mail noel.guiden@behans.ie with the name of the relevant contact in the school, their e-mail details, please identify the school and please also identify whether the school is a Primary or Secondary school.
Last year’s Brother At Your Side Clonliffe Schools Cross Country was an outstanding success and was highly acclaimed by the schools taking part. The event was held in fine autumnal sunshine in the superb surroundings of Santry Demesne Parkland, the venue for the 2009 European Cross Country, with some 1,000 young athletes from all over Leinster participating.
With Clonliffe currently celebrating 125 years since the Club’s founding Clonliffe and Brother aim to make the 2011 Brother At Your Side Clonliffe Schools Cross Country the best to date.
