
Less than a week until the Thonabrucky Challenge There is less than a week to go to the inaugural Thonabrucky Challenge, the fun run that takes in the famous Thonabrucky hill! The run and family day is being organized by the Rathun an Chaislean Nua Hurling club and they have joined forces with Cystic Fibrosis Galway in order to raise much needed funds for the Cystic Fibrosis UHG Hospital Fund and their own hurling club.
The club is calling on all runners, walkers and even strollers to take part in the day which will be preceded by a family fun day at the club itself. The cost of entry is €20 for a single person, €30 for a family and under 16’s go free! The day will kick off at 1pm with the race starting and finishing at the hurling clubs HQ in Thonabrucky. Registration and race number collection will take place from 12pm in the clubhouse and the first 100 people to enter will get a sponsored T Shirt. After the race there will be a fully catered BBQ and refreshments whilst the fun kicks off on the pitch with a tug of war, wheel barrow races, long puc, street handball, egg and spoon races and several bouncing castles to keep all the family entertained! Quiff Hair and Beauty in Westside will be on hand to revive the ladies after the race! The race is sponsored by Londis/Subway Newcastle which is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
