
The Conamara 10k and Running Festival will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Online registration will close on Friday 11 October. It will be possible to register on the day for €25.
Race pack collection will be available at Carna Bay Hotel in Carna on race day, from 2pm. The race pack will include:
10k Chonamara t shirt
Race number and safety pins
Timing chip
Energy Bar
The Race:
Conamara 10k promises to be one of the most scenic road races in Ireland, starting in Carna village, crossing the islands of Roisín an Chaladh and Muighnis, before reaching the turnaround point at Muighnis graveyard and heading back to Carna.
The stunningly beautiful course will be accurately measured and certified, will be chip-timed and refreshments will be provided afterwards in Carna Bay Hotel. The Conamara 10k, which is being organised by the local triathlon club, TríSpórt, will be open to runners, joggers and walkers.

The Festival:
Along with the run, a 10k Chonamara Running Festival will be held over the October 12-13 weekend.
A running fair and expo will open at Carna Bay Hotel at 12pm on October 12
Following the 10k Chonamara award ceremony, a lively Gaeltacht cultural session will be held at the hotel, with music, sean-nós dancing and sean-nós singing.
The night will finish with a lively traditional Irish music session.
Sunday will see a chi running workshop being held by Catherina McKiernan (more information at www.catherinamckiernan.com).
There will also be a cultural walk being held in the Carna area on Sunday morning.
