Sandra & Pamela Greville from Raharney in Co. Westmeath are undertaking with a number of other volunteers to do a trek in the Grand Canton in June 2012 in order to raise much needed funds for Barnardos. The Grand Canyon Trek is a challenge, both in the physical preparation and in the fundraising required. We are aiming to raise €9,200 so we need all the help we can get!! We have organsied a Duathlon in the scenic Liliput Adventure Centre on the shores of Loug…h Ennell which is about 10 minutes from Mullingar town. Funds raised from this event will go towards the vital work that Barnardos provides for families and children throughout Ireland. For more information please visit www.barnardos.ie. REGISTRATION DETAILS In order to register for this event please email your name, age and phone number to barnardosgrandcanyontrek12@hotmail.com. We will then forward to you a sponsorship card and we ask all participants to raise a minimum of €20 in sponsorsip. Registration will be from 10a.m. to 11.30a.m. with the race starting at 12 noon. The distances are a 5 km run, then a 20km cycle and finish wth 2.5km run. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in male/females from 18yrs old to 40 years old and for male/female over the age of 40 years. There will be goody bags and refreshments for eveyone!
