MUSIC AND RACE COMMENTARY BY DJ MARTIN BOSTON! – Unless he is working in which case it will be his equipment and some ‘guest’ DJ’s
GOODY BAGS FOR ALL FINISHERS! – This is true.
CELEBRITY RUNNERS! – Maybe.
As this is a 4K loop please feel free to walk either 4/8 or 10K. We will take times for the 10K up to 80 minutes and will endeavour to produce a full set of results by the time of the AWARD CEREMONY at 13:00. The course has been measured accurately by Jones wheel on a myriad occasions and run even more. Be careful at the 9K mark as this will be a sharp turn and a downhill final 1K dash to the finish. Remember to look good at the Start and Finish and the 4 & 8K points for your family, admirers and papparazzi.
The REGISTRATION and post race SHOWERS will be at St. Mary’s GAA which is a short walk from the GAA CAR PARK or the overflow car park at Bank Of America. Please treat all the facilities with respect as these have been generously offered. We know you always do and remember this race is ‘run’ by runners for runners and we rely on a team of dedicated volunteers who will be fully briefed. We ensure that you have an accurate course and K markers for the very low core fee of €10 but please feel free to donate more to the IWA if you feel we have all provided a value for money race day experience.
There will be PRIZES on the day for the 1ST MAN and WOMAN and something for 2nd & 3rd as well as certificated recognition for the age groups. There will also be some SPOT PRIZES.
Men Over 40/45/50/60 Women Over 35/40/45/50/60 or something similar.

The Resource Centre provides our members with a range of programmes and activities both centre and community based. Among the wide range of services we provide are Driving Tuition and Motoring, Accessible Transport, Respite and Peer Counselling just to mention a few.
The 10K Run will provide valuable Funds for Irish Wheelchair Association Carrick-On-Shannon. All Funds raised as a result of this event will go to local services.
The Start of the Run/Walk will be at 11:00 at Irish Wheelchair Association Castlecarra Road Carrick-On Shannon. This can be found on the Dublin road out of Carrick just after the Tesco roundabout. If the numbers warrant we will start the walk prior to the run.
This is an inaugural event and there will be an entry fee of just €10. It is an accurate wheel measured course consisting of 2 laps of 4K and a final out and back 2K on the same lap so nice and compact. Each K is marked and there will be trophies for the winners and age group recognition and certificates. Spot prizes are donated by sponsors and there will be refreshments in IWA after the event. There will be plenty of parking in the area on the day and the army of marshalls will direct you. Order Of Malta will provide our medical cover. We will continue to update as the day gets nearer.
