Welcome to the 2nd annual Claremorris 5K Fun Run/Walk for Kenya. This event is organized by Claremorris woman Janet Hinchion in association with Mayo AC, Fit4Life and Claremorris AC. All funds raised for this event go directly to Kitui Development Centre (KDC) – an NGO working in the Kitui district of Kenya supporting orphans and vulnerable children. Janet works voluntarily as Project Advisor with KDC and spends considerable time working on the ground in Kenya with those most affected by poverty, HIV and malaria.
This event last year raised a considerable amount to help some of the most underprivilaged children and young people in Kenya today and we hope that the people of Claremorris and the surrounding areas will once again turn out to support this great cause.
The entry fee is just €12 per adult, €22 per family and €6 for students (over 16). The race is offically measured and timed by Mayo AC. There will be small cash prizes on the day for the first three finishers as well as for the first three finishers from the Fit4Life group. This promises to be a fun-filled family day out with refreshments for all participants afterwards.
Race starts at 11am with registration for all entrants from 10am. Both from Claremorris Athlethics Track. Hope to see you there!
