fundraise for Croí One of Ireland top Coach will attempt to swim the English Channel to raise money for Croí.
Top coach Seb Locteau is the head coach of Comans Swimming club has spent the last years 12 years coaching around the world from local to international level in three different sports. Athleteics, swimming and triathlon.
Less than 10% of people who have attempted to swim the Channel have succeeded in reaching France. "I’ve always loved swimming, ultra running, and ironman triathlon but I need to think about coping with how cold it will be” said Coach Seb, who will have to contend with high winds and waves of up to two metres.
"I reckon I have a good chance of getting across, but you never know what can happen out there in the middle of cold and dark water. I hope people see it as a symbolic thing, life is not about what you want, but what you are ready to do to get what you want"
I’ll just be in a pair of Speedos, hat and goggles; this is the rules and requirement. If I cross nobody can touch me or help me on the other side until I am completely out of the water on a dry land, or Food has to be through in the water through a loose lead which I can’t hold on or touch the boat or I can be disqualify. You are just on your own out there”

The Tough challenge is described swimming the channel as "one of the toughest physical challenges on the planet".
The famous stretch of water is one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, with 600 tankers and 200 ferries crossing it every day.
Coach Seb and Croí are asking members of the public to raise money themselves and support our local celebrity coach, which will also swim leg of the half Ironman in Galway as part of a celebrity relay team next September.
