Escape to the beauty of the Cooley Mountains and absorb the most magnificent views on the North East Coast of Ireland stretching out along the Cooley Peninsula.
The famous Tain Way – a national way marked walking route – covers a 40km circuit of the Cooley Mountains on forest tracks, mountain paths and country roads. The half-marathon route includes a selection of forest tracks, mountain paths and minor roads along The Táin Way.
The beautiful village of Carlingford lays to the north of the range, overlooking Carlingford Lough, and is the backdrop for the finish. Here is the landscape of the legend of Cuchulainn and Queen Meabh and the Brown Bull of Cooley.
