Run the streets of Belfast for children with cancer!

0

Barry McGuigan and rising star Carl Frampton are urging you to lace up your running shoes and pound the streets of Belfast in aid of CLIC Sargent, the charity for children and young people with cancer.

For the 32nd year, the Belfast City Marathon will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, 6 May 2013.

Over 20,000 runners are expected to take to the streets, weaving their way through the city and its iconic landmarks. Barry and Carl believe this is the perfect way for runners and relay teams to go the extra mile for children with cancer.

Families in Northern Ireland currently travel an average of 500 miles a week to get the cancer treatment their child needs. This is a huge financial and emotional strain on the family, at an already stressful time. With the Homes from Home Appeal, CLIC Sargent aims to build free self catering accommodation close to the two main Belfast Hospitals.

This will mean that families who travel long distances will be able to stay close to their child during treatment. All the funds raised by people running for CLIC Sargent in the Belfast City Marathon will bring us closer to reaching their goal.

By running for CLIC Sargent you will receive a number of benefits such as:

• Tailored training plan and advice worth £20 a month
• Expert advice for specific running problems such as injury
• CLIC Sargent running vest
• Fundraising pack
• The loudest of cheers on race day
• And much, much more!
