DESCRIPTION:Run in the Dark returns this November as a virtual event. Thousands of runners and walkers across the globe will light up the night on Wednesday 11 November. Participants will run individually and track their run on the Run in the Dark mobile application to place on a global leaderboard. \nRun in the Dark is the Mark Pollock Trust’s principal fundraising event which supports Mark Pollock to deal with the ongoing impact of his catastrophic spinal cord injury while enabling him to pursue his personal mission to cure paralysis in our lifetime. \nThe virtual run pack includes: \n\nRun in the Dark medal\nFlashing armband to hold your phone or keys\nTime and distance tracking\nDigital certificate of completion

DESCRIPTION:SUMMARY \nRun in the Dark Belfast will take place on 14th November at 8.00pm in Stormont Estate. Join the Mark Pollock Trust and thousands of fellow runners to support our ongoing research to find a cure for spinal cord injury in our lifetime. \n  \nDESCRIPTION \nRun in the Dark Belfast is of huge personal importance to Mark and to the Mark Pollock Trust\, being in Mark’s hometown and sustained by his family\, friends and supporters. \nEvery November\, as darkness sweeps the globe\, thousands of people from over 50 cities will pull on their running shoes and red flashing armbands and hit the streets to Run in the Dark. \nYou have the option of running a 5k or 10k distance and if your trainers are a little dusty you can even walk the route. \n  \nWHY YOU SHOULD TAKE PART \nWe know there are lots of running events out there\, so why choose Run in the Dark?! \nApart from being a unique night run taking place in iconic locations around the world\, there’s also an important cause fuelling this fundraising run. Run in the Dark is a global running movement helping to cure paralysis in our lifetime. \nRun in the Dark is organised by the Mark Pollock Trust\, named after blind Irish adventure athlete Mark Pollock. Unbroken by blindness in 1998\, Mark Pollock suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury in 2010 when he fell from a second story window that left him paralysed. As Mark strives to walk again\, his most complex journey is ahead of him – to find a cure for paralysis. \nBy taking part in Run in the Dark you are enabling ground-breaking collaborations and research which could change the lives of millions of paralysed people around the world. \nEvery donation\, every step\, every study\, moves us towards a cure for paralysis and enabling people to walk again.
