5km road race for all the fit 4life groups in the Galway & Galway County on the 6th of November @11am in Newcastle Athenry.
The Athenry F4L 5K road race will be run on this SATURDAY 6th of November 2010 @11am in Newcastle, just outside Athenry. The course will be the exact same as used in the first leg of the Galway 5KM series for the last four years.
It will be organised by the Athenry AC Fit4Life leader and is primarily targeted at Fit4Life’rs. Anyone can enter and run but the available prizes will only be given to eligible F4L programme members.
Registration will be on runireland.com and the will be limited registration on the day at the Newcastle Community Hall. Numbers can be picked up at the Community Centre from 10am onwards!
Pacers will assigned to pace groups for 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36 minutes.
This will be a good opportunity for people who have just joined the F4L and for current F4L members to test themselves in a low-pressure race. More information and a map of where the race is can be found the Athenry AC web site
All proceeds (after paying necessary expenses) will be going to Galway Hospice. It is hoped costs can be kept to a minimum through sponsorship/donations.
